having come to cycling from running I was always a spinner due to being so bloody weak !! These days those goal posts have moved a little , yesterday I put out 727 watts for over 30 seconds but peak power was only 766 but this is considerably more than I have put out recently over 15 seconds when racing . ( best zwift 15 sec power 878 back in lockdown but I was racing multiple times a week and putting the sprint work in) I still don't have that SNAP where people go 1200 watts and then fall off so racing I have to wind up my effort and try to just hold on. I nearly always chasing people all the way to the line as I never quite go early enough :¬) Basically as an A CAT I SUCK at sprinting but am good in a breakaway :¬) |

I do a weekly training session with our youth/junior race team, and keep (jestingly) getting told off for gaming the handicap race. It really is more a case I physically can't match the acceleration of any of them so lose the wheels, but have the occasional habit of timing a catch right to go over the top whilst they play games! 😁 But in terms of out right kick, pretty much anyone, man or woman, older than maybe 11 can gap me. |

I get the impression we are not disimmilar Gobi. I was 862 for 15 seconds in Lockdown and this year 754. I am better over 5 to 20 minutes though. I can put out 1100+ fresh but not in a race. In a race it's more in the 900w ballpark. The plan though is to comfortably hold 230w for 4:30 hours not smash it for 15 seconds!
