Little Miss Happy
My MiL tried that Baroness unfortunately it didn't work very well gf.

DT - was thinking, you make vegan 'buttermilk' by adding lemon juice to a non milk so the recipe should definitely work with dairy milk.

Hope you enjoy them Linds.

Nice bread - I do miss good fresh bread.

Lots of success with bread again on here :)
I've made brownies for the first time. s there's only Mr GM and me, I only made 1/3 of the recipe - it means I can bake something else in a couple of day's time *winwin*.
The brownies have peanut butter in them and I drizzled white chocolate on top as we'd run out of dairy milk (and I don't like plain chocolate).
They came out too thin (the mixture spread whilst baking) so are drier than planned. They look more like biscuits 🤷‍♀️

I think the getting the yest started early is the trick, the dough was warm to the touch in my hands as I was kneading.

Scones next perhaps. I panic bought jam......

Yeah I think you need the fizz in the lemonade and full sugar for those scones.

Love seeing all this baking. I tend to do my cakes as traybakes and freeze them in individual slices.

There’s only the two of us in this house so I need some portion control.

The carbon dioxide and sugar in the lemonade gives the raising agent and sweetness, the cream contains enough fat to stand for the butter/egg

Not baked but I made an old-fashioned lemon posset today with double cream that was about to go out of date. Cream and caster sugar brought to a gentle boil then lemon juice whisked in and in to chill in the fridge for a few hours. It set and was (past tense) lovely and tangy. So simple.

Now that does sound good

I’m making a very quick pasta-bake for a late tea. Spirals, red pesto and Parmesan cheese in the Aga now
