Back home after a weekend conference/houseparty at Sidmouth (Friday - Sunday) with our "baby boy's" church group. I am never too good at running after a few hours of driving, and my 5 mile run on Saturday afternoon was really hard going for me!

I had the weekly track session at the running club this evening. we did various distances from 400m. to 1000m. It was quite a good session, but I was on the rather slow side of my normal.

It's amazing the effect stuff has on a run be it physical from your driving Ev or mental when the world just gets your brain in a mush. Well done for getting out better than giving in and missing it.

Got out for a 3.5m run this morning before going to my husbands aunties funeral. She was a fiercely independant woman and recent years saw her suffer with her eyesight and then respiratory problems but talking to people today you remember the lady she was. Sad times but a kick up the butt to stop, smell the roses and love for today. Life will go on and you have to make time for things that are important. Funnily work is not that thing yet it's what takes priority.... time for change me thinks.

GG, at your young age, it's quite reasonable to make work a priority - it's what pays for everything else you do, like running, eating, running, sleeping, running, drinking, running, vets' bills, running, holidays, running etc. Of course you have to get your priorities right, whatever they may be. My eldest son gave me a mug at Christmas, and on it reads, EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT BUT RUNNING IS IMPORTANTER. That says it all!

Thanks Ev, work is a necessary evil but I do need to stop allowing it to be all encompassing as when it stops I need to have a life to fit into. Days are going so quick that we don't seem to turn around and another week has gone by without doing the things that matter - today that is ironing!

Ran to work yesterday got almost a 5min PB on last weeks run!!! Think the bug may have left now and I set off determined to get a fast first mile - tick, even mile 2 was fast for me (9.07 / 9.30) and I got my quicken 5k since using my new garmin.... oh and I may have signed up for my first marathon!!!!

Goodbye February - after a pretty good January it's been a real slog, the last couple of weeks in particular I've only accumulated 18 miles and despite relatively short distances have had to walk / run and stop for extra stretching. Hoping it's just a blip - going to give myself a week off running now and hope I regain some running mojo...

Oh Donnie sorry to hear this. What is the problem (apols if I've missed a post) hope your week off helps and get some Physio support if you need it.

I'm in Edinburgh this week so up and out for a run this morning 2.7 done. At least 2 more to round up then month but 6 will give me an even number for the 2 months... why do I have to have number OCD??

Nutso Lazytoad!
No running from me for the last week, although Feb is a passable total by my standards. Back at the physio tonight so should be back running tomorrow all being well. The back of my knee being sore for the last week hasn't helped! This is new and not have I see the physio for.

Delurking briefly....

Well done everyone and fingers crossed for those that are dealing with injuries/niggles. I hope it clears quickly!

I'm remaining optimistic. I'm still on 5 miles for the year (from New Year's Day!) but have an alternative training plan and am going to be doing rather unconventional training for my half at the end of June (and walking lots of it!). So thankful to have my personal trainer - the support is so helpful!

Another group for another year, but whether you're aiming for 500 or more or less lets just have a nice little social group to share our goals and running antics.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

Target miles Link http://www.fetcheveryone.com/training-mileagetargets-filtered.php?category=RUN&mileage=500

to set your mileage:

Go to the Train tab

scroll down to where it says - annual mileage targets

there should be a little box to the right in red, click for run and add your mileage.

Race Planner docs.google.com

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
