Hi everyone. I've been away for 3 days each week, spending time with my mum (97 with Alzheimers). My brother lives only 8 miles away from her, but he and his wife have been in Hong Kong visiting their eldest son - who works there; so Mum wouldn't get the regular visits apart from the carers, who do a great job. Brother returns on Wednesday, so I shall visit less frequently now as we are 160 miles away.

Well done those who have been able to run despite recovering injuries and infections. I've managed to keep going with my 4 or 5 runs each week, but no afflictions apart from old age!

Morning folks, it's been a while!

My running has been a bit off and on but more through life being busy than any illness or injury thank goodness.

I started my proper training plan last week and already have missed one of the three planned runs but I did manage to get in my two days of cross-training and a short walk with the family.

Also got some hiking to fit in now as we're doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge at work in May!

Still below target for the year at the moment but should catch up soon enough :)

Attempted to run the bridleways. Not a very good idea, a lot were very wet and slippy :(
Still good to be out in the sun :)

Hello gang good to see you!

I'm off to a running club tonight.... first time at a club on over 8/9 years!! Very excited if not slightly apprehensive, although they've been so welcoming just on Facebook messages that helps. A friend is coming along too.

She's not ran for a while so we're doing the 5k run tonight - nice gentle lead in.

Hope you have fun at the club tonight GG, it's something that I've thought of doing on several occasions but never actually done anything about!

The club was brilliant we were made very welcome. Some crazy warm up exercises before setting off. They had so many groups

C25k, 5k, progression, 8k, and 10k

My pal hasn't ran for a couple of months and not properly since before her injury in august, so we did the 5k. Ultimately this is about me progressing but I know S will get there and we'll soon be flying.

Loved the atmosphere it was very welcoming and people just chatted to us as we were out. S was dreading it but the biggest smile at the end. Whoop!!

Dobbie
After a couple of quiet weeks managed a couple of 5s and a 4 miler this week. Still not at pace I'd like (wrong side of 9 minutes per mile) and not really finding a rythum somehow - every step seems an effort. Hoping it's just a plateau i need to get through and it'll all click into place just in time for spring!

Well done Dobbie! The pace will come back I'm sure. I know I have periods where every step feels so hard that I wonder why I bother but somehow it does click into place.

I have had to fight myself out the door a couple of times this week but both times I've pushed beyond the planned 5k to 4.5m and 4.7m. I need to start upping the miles though its all well and good going out 5 times a week doing 5k is but I need to start getting those miles in.

Right off to walk the dog and cool down my legs, my calves have been rather achy at the moment so I need to get my act together and start stretching and foam rolling them into submission.

Another group for another year, but whether you're aiming for 500 or more or less lets just have a nice little social group to share our goals and running antics.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

Target miles Link http://www.fetcheveryone.com/training-mileagetargets-filtered.php?category=RUN&mileage=500

to set your mileage:

Go to the Train tab

scroll down to where it says - annual mileage targets

there should be a little box to the right in red, click for run and add your mileage.

Race Planner docs.google.com

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
