£180 sounds steep to me, a non-cricket person, for a bit of wood.

Then again £180 probably sounds steep for a pair of running shoes to a non-runner and £850+ definitely sounds steep for a rowing machine to almost everyone so I'll STFU. ;-)

How is anyone else doing on progressing along their glorious roads? Apparently we're now past the statistical "quitters' day" when the majority of NYRs fail, so if you're still on track you're doing well.

I lost out on a Slazenger V1000 off Ebay yesterday. RRP£349, on sale widely at £179 online. Brand new one for £59.
Went up to Sports Direct to check it out, lovely bat, but too slow, someone nabbed the Ebay one.
Decided to widen the search at £180, and Bob's your uncle

£180 is a decent price for a bat:

@Nicholls595 just shared the news that a £700 Ben Stokes bat exists. Having just paid over £200 for what Mrs Nellers thinks is a fancy digital watch I shouldn’t be surprised by this, and yet here I am. 😉

I do remember a Science of Sport pod ages ago where they discussed cricket tech and they had a long debate about the weight and weight distribution, along with the density and hardness of the wood and the way handles had developed to dampen shock and reduce injury.

I guess the research into that is as expensive as a carbon plate in the midsole of a running shoe.

Got something to say?
