Just to get my base fitness back then work on my 5k time again.

Then on a musical front, just start getting back into that more...more piano and trumpet and I'm playing with a flute group - anywhere between three and eight people turn up. It's fun and non-competitive.

There's always a comeback,
I'm two years deep in coming back from an injured knee.
Sub 18 5k, I got very close last year
Sub 3 marathon, I need two knees for this
Return to hill running, again knees needed

wow some great goals, and best of luck Nellers.

Pix.... get it done, I am definitely not a writer I'll leave that to you clever folk.

My biggest goal this year is to have the bunion surgery (scheduled for 31st Jan) and recover strong which will then allow:

Running goals:
2 laps at The Berkeley Marathons UK (on my birthday - that would be a great present to myself)
Gold medal at Escape from Meriden (we aimed for it this year but my friend got injured when a transit van almost hit him)

Life goals:
Work towards retirement in May/June next year, could be earlier if I don't get the regrade I definitely deserve... if I don't I will be stepping back in the job I am doing - they're not getting both.

I also would love to get more confident just sitting down with a sketch pad and drawing/painting, maybe one to work on while I am recovering!

Well that was fun. Only 4 there (plus me) so got to bowl for an hour. Feeling it this morning, but turns out, I've still got it! Only a couple of loose ones, mostly good line and soon got length nailed down. All 4 lads there were first team players and none believed me when I said I haven't played competitively this century, especially when I cleaned one of them up with a beautiful slower ball!

Definitely glad I did it, going back again next week. In the meantime, I am scouring Facebook Marketplace for cheap second hand kit.

Hooray @Nicholls595 that sounds like a very successful evening! I hope the DOMS are kind! I've picked up some cheap bats via that route - let us know what you find!

I wonder if MrPix still has his almost unused bat? Mind you he’s only 5’8” so if it goes by height that may not help

Excelllent, Nico. Interestingly, in the few games I have played this century after a gap of about 16 years I found I was a much better bowler and batsman than I ever was before. Not quite as mobile in the field, mind you.

That's great, Nico. Love that!

There's a Berkeley Marathons UK @geordiegirl ? I had no idea, not that it's something I'd consider attempting but I'm curious about those that might!

Me, I'm constantly hitting refresh on the social media accounts of Olney Town Cricket Club, hoping that their nets will start soon. I am hoping to play club cricket again after a hiatus of about 22 years. I know of at least one other Fetchie planning a similar journey (albeit with ...
