Just under 47 miles so far this month, for my best January ever. Still plan to do another 3 on Mon, but I might have to make it 3.5 to make sure I get over 50. Was lovely weather right up until the hail came, thankfully only in 3 short bursts.

Greetings from muscat!! I am back in Oman and boy does it feel like home. I could quite happily settle down for another 6months here... but I'll have to make do with 6 more days.

I got out for a run on Thursday before I left the UK -1 it was. Yesterday's run in Muscat was 26!

I did my fav route including a stop for a roof top iced latte I struggled as I'd left it a bit late and it was so warm!

I'm going to try to do another run tomorrow then I have 2 full day conferences and I'm def running Thursday and maybe Friday too.

I'll be sad to leave as unless I get a holiday out here I am unlikely to be back.... but I'm tempting the Oman office with my data protection skills now hahaha.

Sending you all some sunshine and warmth.

Geordie Sounds fab if a smidge warm, one of my collagues always used to say Oman was the best of the middle east :) he used to spend a lot of time out there as we deal with RA Oman

5km for me yesterday and 4.4km today followed by 1km in the pool! Ouch leaves me 7.7 behind target but I'm not stressing long way to go yet and Feb is usually a good month for me.

Jealous of your weather GG but still prefer the cold and drizzle to run in rather than the heat :)

6.27 miles for me today, bit more than planned due to getting a bit lost trying to squish bugs but it all helps in getting back on track and that's 3 runs this week which is what I planned to do

51 miles in Jan - slightly ahead of target so well pleased considering Jan is not usually a good month. Not run since Friday though - need to kickstart Feb today!

New month - fresh start!

Only 27 miles for me in January but seem to be back in the groove now and got off the mark for February with 5.4 miles last night.

Not a good start to February as I had no run due to feeling a bit rough (headaches, cough, cold). A missed weekend usually fires me up even more to get out and do some miles the following week.

Well done to everyone who made it out!

brrr struggling with this cold after the warmth of last week.

I did get out on Tuesday night did 3.5miles and I ran to work on Wednesday. My chest is still wheezy from the virus but I planned on running home Weds night. However, events overtook me and I wasn't able.

Basically I went to get changed and was chatting to a colleague as he was cycling home and was on putting his jacket and shoes on when I went for my kit. We chatted then I went to get ready, again spoke to some other colleagues and set off.

Got to the gate to find it all closed and site on shutdown. My colleague who was cycling home got attacked off a man on the road from the site. I won't go into details but suffice to say he is not in any grave danger but he suffered severe injury to his arm. My normal routine would have had my kit upstairs with me, I would not stopped to talk to my colleagues. Kev and I often leave around the same time when I'm running home.

At worst I would likely have been a victim of the attack and at best I'd have witnessed what happened. It really doesn't bear thinking about. It has shaken us up, the person had a vendetta with a couple of chaps who work where I am, but that he took up a random attack on just anyone who worked there is crazy. Thankfully the police arrested him later that night so the risk has gone.

We are all under advise not to go to work without a car until we know he has been charged and locked up. It won't put me off running to/from work, these things are very rare.

I just hope Kevin is ok how you get over something like that I don't know.

Another group for another year, but whether you're aiming for 500 or more or less lets just have a nice little social group to share our goals and running antics.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

Target miles Link http://www.fetcheveryone.com/training-mileagetargets-filtered.php?category=RUN&mileage=500

to set your mileage:

Go to the Train tab

scroll down to where it says - annual mileage targets

there should be a little box to the right in red, click for run and add your mileage.

Race Planner docs.google.com

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
