I think I've listened to about seven, maybe eight of those and none of them really grabbed me. Quite intriguing that the NME has now positioned itself as much more r&b/rap than it was with quite a few rather MOR things quite high (like Billie Eilish).

Quite a few good albums in there mixed in with the poppy rnb stuff. Fontaines DC, Idles, The Cure. Amyl and Sniffers, Sprints. Bill Ryder Jones and Wunderhorse amongst the albums I’ve liked this year.

Going to do a top 10 of the year. Thinking I’ll do it just based on how I feel now and memory. Will then look at my review scores and list it that way too and see how they compare.

New Saint Etienne lp dropped today! I was a big fan of their last one, "i've been trying to tell you" and the whole stitched together samples from late 90s pop to create a dislocating dreamlike atmosphere. The further away they drift from their pop roots the more interesting they become (not that I don't like the early stuff, just glad they're exploring other places now)

I have 2 of the NME's list - Sprints and Beth Gibbons and I did give Ths Last Dinner Party a try. I also liked the Bat For Lashes and Jane Weaver albums that came out this year.

Saw Rosali live, equally as terrific as the record.
And the Jane Weaver record one is excellent.

I thought of dropping my top 20 on here but it was a bit long so put it in a blog instead. TL;DR - The Cure is my fave, it's a bit indie-rock heavy overall.
I very much like looking through the various end of year lists and checking out things I've missed, there's always at least a couple of gems I pick up on late
