I'm loving the new David Green Silver album (Garden). It's a great album of 60s psychedelic pop. I think it just popped up on my Spotify recommendations, but I'm struggling to find any trace online of who David Green Silver is.

Interestingly Spotify has been recommending it to me as well, so I'm giving it a listen now and it's a cracking record. 😎

Yep, even I have more of a internet presence than him 😁😁

We've gone a bit quiet here on this thread. I'm liking the new Blixa Bargeld & Teho Teardo lp, bleak teutonic weariness over strings and clanks. Most aligned with my current mood. Their most famous song prior to this was "A quiet life" at the end of the first series of German Netflix timetravelling weirdness "Dark" when everything went wrong for the "hero/antihero" Jonas.

New Kim Deal coming soon, and new Innocence Mission too. Off to see Rosali at the weekend live, and Naima Bock next weekend, so I'm waking up again. Anyone else picked up anything recently?

Enjoying the new Haley Heynderickx album, finally getting into the 6 month old Waxahatchee album, but the album that's really grabbed me is "Hear the Children Sing The Evidence" by Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Nathan Salsburg and Tyler Trotter. It's two 20 minute tracks which are reworkings of much shorter Lungfish songs. Low key, relaxed but hypnotic and I find myself going back to it again and again.

I'm loving the new Pixies album. Easily their best since they reformed.

Goat is impressing me a lot as well. Sounds a little like Jane's Addiction at their funkiest at times.

@Llamadance - oh yeah I have the Bonnie Prince Billy one, I love it. I love Salsburg's solo stuff too and his stuff with his wife Joan Shelley. Will Oldham is perfectly suited to it too. Lungfish are really interesting even if I never really got into them. Great music for current times.

About This Thread

Maintained by McGoohan
As a spin-off from Joopsy's excellent Albums of 2022 thread fetcheveryone.com/forum/albums-of-2022-62537/ this is a new thread where we commit to listen to one new album a week in 2023. Allowing a couple of weeks off for life commitments etc, that's 50 albums in the year.
EDIT - new and improved (i.e. exactly the same) for 2024
