Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

As a spin-off from Joopsy's excellent Albums of 2022 thread fetcheveryone.com/forum/albums-of-2022-62537/ this is a new thread where we commit to listen to one new album a week in 2023. Allowing a couple of weeks off for life commitments etc, that's 50 albums in the year.

When I say, 'new', I don't think they have to be Brand New hot-off-the-presses either, just new to you. The Albums of 2022 thread has been a great source of suggestions for listening already, so I'm also hoping this thread will also be a place people can make suggestions.

For example, a lot of people are recommending the Gently Tender album Take Hold of Your Promise and as such, I'm going to make that my first listen of 2023.

If you're interested, just watch this thread, listen to an album, then come back here and review it, saying what number it is so far through your Fifty.

Thanks!

As for myself I think I'll follow Joopsy's lead as regards new/old music:

"I usually give myself a cut off of end Feb and then there is ample music out to be discovering from the current year. I will still continue to listen to recommendations but do try and listen to as much as I can from the current year."

I'm in, and excited, for this.

My first album, on the recommendation of my son in law, will be Bato Mato by Adwaith. They are a three piece' 'indie rock' female Welsh language band from Carmarthen who I saw supporting Idles. They are the first act to win the Welsh Music Prize twice.
