Sorry to hear your still not 100% Lesley but well done on getting out in the fresh air & hope little legs is now ok too.

I’m def a social drinker I wouldn’t drink on my own, just hubby and I socialise together 😂 I’m far from having any issue with a nice NZ sauv. I will be having a glass tonight as my cousin and partner are popping round so we can book at trip to Dublin in the new year.

Didn't mean to get onto an alcohol chat! Everyone here is clearly very wise; I have known very heavy "drinkers" who did superb running times during their periods of excessive consumption ( eg 2. 40 marathoners) but didn't live long. I enjoy a beer or two and a whisky and did have awful hangovers until my late twenties. No thank you to those ugh mornings after that.
A lot of younger people who don't drink much alcohol tend to use recreational drugs which isn't good. Thankfully most people change their sillier habits as age and responsibilities knock on the door.

Hello all. I'm sorry that I haven't been on here for quite some time, although I have had contact with a few of you. I had thought that I had to pack in running, after a message of doom was given to me by a consultant. My very experienced physio, however, strongly disagreed, but urged caution, Since late April I have been slowly building up mileage again, mainly through walk/run. Recently though I did run almost continuously for 5K - I had to stop for a 'comfort break' after 4K before completing the run!! I hope to run a parkrun in a few weeks time, at a pace of about 3mins/mile slower than my last parkrun in February 2020! [Sorry to go on for so long and bore you.] P.S. The anniversary of my injury is 9 days' time. Oops!

Hi Evangel really good to read your post, very good news about your running. Pace doesn't matter as long as you're able to run and enjoying it. I really am pleased you're getting out running again. :-)

How great to see your news Evangel . Fantastic that you've been able to manage almost 5k, hope that your park run in a few week's time is successful too.
I only did 2 miles this morning because of time commitment; a superb sunny morning with a hint of autumn and perfect for running (or run/walk which I'm still stuck on. I like it though!)

Welcome back Evangel, it's good to hear that you are building up your mileage again, and hoping to do a parkrun in a few weeks time. Don't worry about the pace, doing it is the important thing.

Well done Steve for continuing to walk/run. It shouldn't be too long before you are able to run continuously.

A good session with the Wednesday Group this morning comprising 6 hilly circuits of 0.37 mile with 2 minutes recoveries. It was in the forest, mainly on grass.

Brilliant to see you back here Ev, I’ve got a happy vibe seeing you out running a bit again. You’re doing grand. Hope you keep popping by.

Time for a trip down memory lane… I am sure it was this group who talked about shoe goo… I’d never heard of it and my interest was piqued as my vibram soles wear in parts due to my bunion. I’ve got a little hole in my sole (feeling like Neil from the young ones)

So question is if it was here would shoe goo plug the little hole for me? I don’t want to throw them out they have a lot of life left otherwise. Thanks
