I may have mentioned before that I set my watch to record distance, pace, and laps in miles, but to alert every Km too! I keep it in miles on here (mostly) but it makes for a fun display on the site-which-must-not-be-named where it shows both the laps and the Km pace!

Thanks Lesley, I won't push to hard during the race.
FF, thanks. I was aware that I could transfer from km to miles and back, and at one time I had k's on here, but decided I liked the combination of them both. My Garmin Connect also registers in miles.
3M, I've set my watch to record in k's, as I've mentioned, but also to alert each k and mile. It also records in miles on the site-which-must-not-be-named.

And of course, it makes for good distracting mental maths on longer runs about "Which beep was that? Oh, that's 15.5 miles done"!

Mark you’ve mentioned this before but if I try to set an alert I can only do miles.
And if I try to do o.62 I can only do increments of 0.05 any tips?

OMG I am doing a half marathon with my friend on Sunday. We’ve been booked on since oh gosh February/ March. Chatting to hubby about weekend and our plans (friend & I are making a weekend of it) he asks when we have to register. I said oh must be Sunday morning … checked emails…. I dont have an email.
Log into run nation and flipping heck I’m not entered. Thank the stars there was still open entry so I’m now in.
There is another run I know I wasn’t going to enter until I confirmed my cousins 40th but turned out I had entered that one so maybe I entered the wrong one. Anyway disaster averted and I’m now officially doing the half marathon I was going too. Grateful we stayed up later chatting tonight.

The only k's that interest me are 5k and 10k and even then my head really knows and equates them to miles. It's an age thing! I couldn't do with any kind of distance alert, at least locally where I know every twist and turn on roads and trails!
Phew, close call gg, hope it goes well. My rounding up is annoying but unless I'm in danger of collapse I'll probably continue 🤪 Just had a new catalogue with the autumn/winter collection of "new" running shoes. I now have to be impressed with "UA HOVR" , " Fresh Foam X 880v12", "PWRRUN+" ,FF BLAST PLUS" technology, "nitrogen infused FLYSPEED foam", "Mud Contagrip", "Energyrods", "Lightstrike Pro Cushioning ". Nearly all the new shoes come in at at least £130 and slip into the £200 zone. Emperor's New clothes in some of these "new" mid sole promises and the so called "inclusivity " of running being well pushed aside for top end "better" shoes. Not many people on average, let alone below average wages can easily afford to run now.

I usually use miles for distance, and most runs, but I use km. for intervals and other speed work. I can usually convert from one to the other while running - approximately that is. It's useful to to know certain equivalents, so that if the Garmin is set in km., I need to do 8.05km. for 5 mls.
