chrishunt The hail at the start whilst registering was a nice touch to get one in the mood. The hail during the race helped cool my head. Being accidently redirected backdown the stairway to hell which I had just re-accended helped my muscles warm up. Loved it really and organisation was excellent. Don't know where they managed to get so many dedicated marshalls - hope they got medals for standing in the rain and still smiling. Amazingly I only fell over once and didnt eeven slip on the stepping stones that were well below water level - don't know why they make stepping stones under the water. Anyway only had to cross the same river four times - that was not the problem - the problem was that the river is at the bottom of a near vertical staircase that seems to never end - although when you are coming up other runners coming the other way try to convince you that you have nearly reached the top even though you are only a quarter of the way up - thanks for that short lived euthoria. Go for it - you will love it!
