ancient Found this hard - felt sluggish from start and 5 to 10 miles pace slowed. Managed to pick up pace for last couple of miles when clubmate stopped just in front of me and I was able to get past him!

brotherjohn Very undulating course, but a nice one, happy enough with the run considering I\'ve not prepared for it at all. PB just wasn\'t on today. Impressed with the event, certainly do it again. 1:18:56 chip time, 13th place and 1st M50. Came up as 13.2 on the Garmin.

Fitz My first half-marathon. Training went reasonably well, following a 12-week programme I found on the BUPA website, except a run of 19km three weeks before race day was an unmitigated disaster due to heat, fatigue, poor prep. Average of around 5:40 per km in training had me hoping to finish in under 2:00. Delighted to have done 1:52:54, it's true when people say you get pulled along by other runners unlike anything in solo training. Really pleased with my first ever race at this distance.
