Fat Boy Very well organised race. Good strong run and pleased to finish 8th overall. First few miles were a bit slushy underfoot but this didn't really affect the times much.

APC Much slower than expected due to injury, should've been around 1.25. Another suspected short Blackpool course, have now seen 7 garmin reports 3 at 12.99 miles and none showing more than 13.02 miles. Sadly not a lot of choice in the T shirt department, no goody bags for a lot of later finishers. This may well be my last Blackpool event, may stick to club organised events in future licensed by appropriate Athletic Associations or Authorities.

CottamRunner Great North West Half Marathon - Blackpool. Started out with 5 x under 7 min miles with a Runner's World pacer who was actually targetting a sub 1.30 half overall. Felt tough but manageable. Was going well to 5, maybe 6 miles - then just kind of blew-up. Lost a few mins but then re-scheduled pace towards a 1.35 race. Home in 1.33.48 ... complete with a tumble over the line (lots of cuts and bruises - all quite unnecessary!!). . Splits: 5k in 20.53, 5M in 34.10, 10k in 42.45 (6-10 in 21.52), 15k in 1.05.43 (11-15 in 22.58), 10M in 1.11.00, 20k in 1.29.32 (16-20 in 23.49), 21.1k / 13.1M in 1.33.48.

Whoever Snow / ice at the start but thankful for low windspeed - course is straight up and down the prom at Blackpool. Relatively flat and wide course, well organised. Tried to run an even pace and achieved it for a change! Second HM PB this year, so hopefully can break 1:30 target sometime this year.
