Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

DrBob Perfect day for a race, crisp, calm and cool. Really enjoyed the run too and broke 90 mins unexpectedly.

Half Share in the House Got a best half marathon time of 1.47.00. But have raced the last two weeks and am planning on running this just to build up my mileage

Longy Superb race, very flat, was cold, not wind. Perfect conditions for a PB. At the very last 100m to go, my left ham strings poped and I finished limping over the line. What a race though, my favourite Half Marathon

Mad Dogs and Englishmen Ideal for a PB, shame I was carrying a niggling injury. Got through in one piece and in a reasonable time.

SUPERWOMAN63 This was my 2nd half marathon and l was using it as part of my training for the London Marathon. I just wanted to get around without a stictch or stomach cramp and so felt teensy bit anxious on the start line. Got to Mile 12 and had a mild stitch but the most awful stomach cramp and was really praying for the finish line. Nice medal and another result to ponder over. I also got a beautiful blood blister at the end of my toe and couldn't help but wonder about this racing lark l have entered into.

Well, only 1 person bet on me, and I only bet 10 points on me myself, but I pulled off a nice PB. Lovely race, flat as a pancake, perfect weather and I paced it very well and had lots of energy for the final 3 miles, when generally I am knackered. Very pleased with it, and am now pretty confident I'll pull off another PB at Silverstone half in March (if I'm not ill or anything). I should have had more confidence in myself and bet a few more points, damn!

Vindicator Ahh, you know this 9 min/mile LSR run I was going to be doing this afternoon in stead of full on racing due to man flu? Well it did not quite go to plan... Apologies to all PB betters out there who DID NOT bet on me due to stories of woe. Be rest assured that I did not bet on myself either! On the start line, my running club nemisiss who also had the man flu affliction said he was going out at 7:30/40 to see what happened. Peer pressure got to me so I followed and the rest is history - he did beat me though... Was a very good race, well marshalled and organised. A very scenic course and flat (apart from a bridge over a dual carriageway).
