Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

About Me
Been running since 2003 'properly' on achieving ambition of running the London Marathon. Had stonking years in 2004 and 2005, then got injured in 2006 and suffered through 2007. Started to recover in 2008, had some steady improvements into 2009 and then 2010 started to break some PBs but still some ambitions elude me (see below). Tried barefoot running for a while but tried too much too soon and, I think, this contributed to my AH problems.

Suffered ongoing Achilles problem in Left ankle in late 2011 due to over-training in competition race shoes that became a continuous problem during 2012, forcing me off the road/track for months after pain worsened. Sought radical 'scrape' treatment that appears to have finally paid dividends in November 2012. Long road of recovery ensued but finally, as of mid-2015, I think I am back and racing and training once more. So happy!

Biggest ambition is to run a sub 3 hour marathon - yes, really! Doing a sub 30 5 miler, a sub 40 10K and a sub 19 5K would also be good. I love XCs and also would like to run top 30 in one of these races. I reckon it's doable...just need to be more committed to training! A lesser, but no less key, ambition is to remain injury free.
Member of Harwich Running Club since late 2003, probably the best little running club in the world if not the greater Tendring area of Essex. Great club, wonderful people, funky logo and vests. We are the Special A.K.A of running clubs. Nice!
