Tried to yesterday, but they wouldn't let me this time because I had shingles a couple of months ago. Bit peed off as I phoned to check before I made the appointment and the phone person said it would be fine, got there and waited an hour only to be told computer says no when I got to the finger-pricking stage.

That is annoying if you've checked by phone. Might perhaps feed that back to them, cos they don't really want to be annoying folk like that. Nope. Hepburn. :-)G

I did feed it back - the nurse said that sometimes the bods on the phone unwittingly give out wrong info. Nevermind, I will go back next time when hopefully they'll want my blood! Nope. Hepburn

I gave blood for the first time yesterday. All pretty painless. Not planning to train again until Sunday, so don't anticipate any problems.

Great stuff Drell. Don't worry about training - I did a gentle 8 miler the next day last time and actually ran really well, no problems at all.
