Hi HappyG,
Oh no, haven't actually donated bone marrow, I was just matched with someone, along with several hundred others I imagine. The syringes were for me to take to my GP, so get another blood sample. Once they tested that further, I didn't match.
I have looked at harvesting procedure, and it does look a bit nasty, but its actually a very slim chance I would ever get that far.

I see. I was concerned that having signed up I was rather committed to it. If I could get holiday/sickness cover for the time off (up to 6 weeks?) I would do it, really. But I work on contract (or actually as I'm out of contract, I am actually not working. maybe I should just give bone marrow now!!) so 6 weeks is no income. Tricky. Good for you tho. :-)G

Just managed to register with 'Blood Donor Online' it only took a couple days for me to receive my 'donor token.' Apparently I can next give blood on April 19th

I always gave blood and nearly had my silver badge award, then cancer struck, not allowed to give it now!But would definately encourage others...........it might be you one day!
