Fizz :-)
I was supposed to give my 27th pint on wednesday, but I had to go away for work, so I've got to remember to go next Thurday instead.

Once, after giving blood, I went to the tea table and stretched over a bit too far for a biscuit, using the arm I'd just donated from - next thing I know, the bloke opposite calls for a nurse, I've got blood running all down my arm! Breif bit of excitement for all concerned!

I try to give blood fairly regularly, you just never know when you might need it yourself.

We used to do the wed lunchtime one in London. Tradition was to give blood about 11:30 than have a couple of pints before going back to the office.

I last gave in June and made appointments in Sept, Oct and Nov but had various reasons I couldn't give for all of them! Mostly colds. Now have an appointment for next Friday so fingers crossed I'll be healthy for that one!

Hopefully my Dad is giving blood today - he had to stop cos he's on medication for hypertension (same reason he started running!) but they've now changed the rules and he should be fine to give :)

Nah, just sounds interesting BB!

Isabel, my boyfriend doesn't give as he has hypertension medication - you think maybe he should go back and see if they want him now?

yeh, it's worth a try, they changed the rules about it fairly recently. I think it still depends on the exact medication, and not having changed meds in the past however many weeks. My dad just rang them up and they seemed happy with the one he's on, although I don't know which one that is, and it just depends now on the normal health check being ok.
