It's a "thing" in Akureyri since some kids in 2008 posted hearts everywhere to cheer everyone up in the economic crisis. Normally, tourists taking photos of the traffic lights and blocking the pavement are annoying. But these girls were taking so much joy from it that I was forced, against my better judgment, to smile. Don't tell the misanthropes thread! kids were happier on the whole during economic crisis. Parents were working less, available more. Do'h!
