Mind you, even across Harrogate there is a big difference in region. The south side would be about 500,000 for a really nice 4-bed similar to that Cambridge one, some parts more north of Harrogate would be 400,000. £500,000 would also get you a town centre period townhouse with 4-5 bedrooms but no parking and not much garden, or a large apartment. We bought in 2009 just before prices went up, 172,000 back then!

Ours is a similar size but we don't have the gorgeous sun lounge but we do have a double garage and an extra public room in the basement with window to front. The market seems to be picking up here since the crash in the oil price.
