A work contact of mine likes a cheeky bcc. I once got an out of office from his boss who I didn’t know was in the loop

I get mails fairly regularly which are sent with obvious bccs (suppliers or customers emailing themselves) and am extra cautious replying

The offending material has now been taken down. So I'll let them off.

I did a race where the PA announced me as I approached the finish and told everyone where I came from. As I have a surname that is more common up north, it wouldn't take a lot for someone to identify me from just a name and town.

And I am now getting phishing emails to the address that was published online. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Got something to say?

About This Thread

Maintained by Muttley
I did a half marathon this weekend. The results are online but they went and included every entrant's email addresses as well. I've emailed to ask them to remove the addresses but had no response. Before I chase them I just want to check that I'm correct to believe that people's emails should not be made public without their explicit consent -- yes?
