I've sold a fair bit with eBay but suffered with a couple of items, one was broken when it arrived, the other the buyer said it was faulty (it wasn't).

Had reasonable success getting rid of larger items via Facebook for local collection, if something is free/low price nobody can quibble.

I had a thought today, nothing new under the sun of course.

Saw someone who is v well-off who told me they sold their house through Purple Bricks. It made me realise that although PB is one low payment, the irony is that not so well off people can't take advantage of it as they will be at work. I work 7 days a week at the mo' to save to move. The older I get, the more I understand the poverty trap. Sad times.

I saw a house via Purple Bricks yesterday. The owner said she was impressed and liked it, and she used to work in conveyancing. That said, it's been on the market since February and it's a nice property.

I found it all a bit impersonal. It was good requesting the viewing online but I think I prefer real people in the agency. I've viewed via eMove too, or tried, they changed appointment time quite late.

I'm also finding potential times to view properties quite tricky, my evenings are usually taken up feeding the Teens and running them to clubs, weekends are quite busy too.

Same here Meg. I work 9-5 and can get to a property 6 at the earliest. Trying to free up some weekends for viewings and push away shifts.

There are 4 men in the house taking our excess furniture - wardrobes, dining table, and bits and pieces. I'm sure we could have got more if we'd sold them separately but this is less hassle.

It's scary watching them manhandle some big heavy wardrobes down the stairs.

I've only really moved house once but was impressed by the removal men, worth every penny for not having to risk your own back!

Seen the details of my house today and it looks fab. Especially when you consider it was pouring with rain at the time. You can only really tell if you look closely.
