Great news XB. Hope you have a stress free moving day.

I've got three people booked in for my viewing on Saturday. Was hoping for more but there's still time.
I've seen about 8 properties so far, though one of them the agent couldn't unlock the door so we had to abandon! One quite promising and lower end of budget. Another property on the market this week that will need lots of work but good location and layout, going to see it on Sunday. Teen 2 not so keen on that, I think she wants the perfect recently renovated property!

Meglet my son was the same when we took on a place that needed loads of work - "why have you made me live here blah blah blah". Go forward 6 years later and he was gutted when we put on the market (even though he had moved out) as he loved that place.

Even the other one I'm keen on she's not sure. She thought the bathrooms and kitchen were horrid. They were modern, not old (12yo property), and fairly inoffensive. Nothing a good clean and some resealing wouldn't fix. Not entirely to my taste but potential to change at some point.

The one that needs doing is only 20yo but probably same people from beginning, it's old fashioned but looks serviceable. I don't really want to do up a whole property but I could get more excited about this one, the layout and location are great and the price isn't bad. Ultimately I've pointed out that she could always live with her dad!

However, I suspect this one will sell fast, probably too fast for me unless I get a good offer early next week.

That's a shame Meglet ... the sort of property I would hope for too.

I didn't get many viewings in the end on the Sat - some cancellations. 1 on Fri; 2 on Sat, 2 on Mon. Just one offer from a buy-to-let person on the Friday at asking price (OIEO didn't happen). I've said yes to that.

Now to start looking. Unfortunately work aren't flexible with letting me go early. I may have to remind them that homeless employees aren't happy employees.

That's great news, I'm really pleased you've had an offer, and with buy-to-let there'll be no chain and hopefully straight forward.

Good news, Squirrel. Pay to employers who don't realise that some things just need to be sorted. A little flexibility goes a long way.

Cheers folks ... and yes ... I'm covering 2 roles at the moment. One is my former boss. They are getting a good deal out of me; the role is 2 grades above mine and it's been absolute hell. I'll try to negotiate keeping that in mind.

How are you getting on Meglet? Any news yet?

My buyer wants to extend the lease, so I need to ask my solicitors about this. If I set the wheels in motion and she pulls out, I could be committed and I don't want to spend the money. There are 97 years still left to run.
