Jovi, in society the definition of female is extremely important, it can stop transgender individuals taking their own life, suffering unnecessary and illegal discrimination, and being isolated from normal society.

Re Issue A - I don't think anyone is saying genuine transgender people pose a risk to females in unisex toilets rather that the idea that anyone that says they are a woman are a woman could perhaps be open to abuse in that it provides an opportunity for those less well inentioned to gain access. If you don't think this happens I had two BBC news items yesterday flash up on my timeline about two instancs of that very thing happening in the last week.

Ge-Rizzle - the trans suicide rate myth has been debunked on numerous occassions. If you can point me to the statistics to back up what you say please do. No one is isolating anyone - trans gender athletes are free to particiapte in sport - no one is sying they aren't. Again, the issue is whether they have an unfair advantage when competing in female sport. I feel isolated and discrimnated by allowing male born athletes into female sports - am I not allowed to voice that or are you saying only trans woman are discriminated against and natal women never are? |

Apologies V'rap- I minsunderstood. I do think it is a little presumptious of men to say women just have to accept anyone who says they are a woman as a fact because they say they are. |
