Well done GM. Exercising the mind is as important and physical activity.
I like the flexibility of your plan.

It's more flexible than a yogi, WW! Today should have been a run. The forecast freezing fog had vanished by 10pm last night instead of hanging around until tea time today, but the beautiful blue sky resulted in a harder frost even than yesterday so it was too slippery underfoot. Instead of running (bambi skating) I dragged Mr GM and Mad Dog Jess out at lunchtime for a 3.5 mile yomp over the fields and along the river bank. Same distance as the planned run, and just as hard on the legs, but safer! Much as I love crisp, frosty winter days (when I'm on holiday), I'm ready for it to warm up just enough for me to go cycling and running in relative safety.

Sensible GM and good time on the legs. I recall pulling a muscle trying to retrieve a slide going down a slope.
Let's hope it warms a little.

That sounds like it would have hurt.
After so many months of running being limited by injury, I'm doing everything I can to avoid another.

That's a very good decision, GM. The only thing worse than peaking too early would be injuring yourself in training.
