I always start the year with a swim target being one of my targets and then never seem to go swimming! - so my 500m at the pool this morning saw me set off simultaneously along the Thames (2022), Seine (2023) and Loch Ness (2024)

A gentle jog to the gym this morning took me just past the village of Pity Me near Durham.

As well as having an interesting name, this is the home town of one of my very favourite bands who not enough people have heard of - Martha. And seeing as it's a bank holiday, sounds like an excuse to share the video of "Ice Cream and Sunscreen" for those who like fizzy, punky indie-pop :)

You need a detour to the RSPB - the Sand is quite obvious up there :)
