Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I see pedroscalls has sneaked over the finish line with a low key message and without anyone putting out the bunting. First in the run/walk for the second year in a row!

Congratulations

Thanks 57.5 Degrees of Pain looks like The wee beastie is going to be second as well for the second year running, sadly you're not looking like coming third to tie up the podium places this time.

I have quite a lot of recovery before venturing beyond 'staying safely ahead of the dragon'. But looking forward to next year already!

IIRC the streets were named because the bloke who devised it was a bit of a part-time druid :-so they're called things like Averbury Blvd and Midsummer Blvd etc and are supposed to, I think, line up with the solstice like ...er... Stonehenge

or something

Sounds a perfectly plausible explanation. Was a bit scared to stay too long incase Inspector Barney came due to a midsummer murder πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I think we both learnt that from John Higgs' "Watling Street", the kicker being that they don't actually line up.
