Sub 60 second half, fastest 2nd half ever I believe. Watched the highlights last night, he set off like a rocket after the drinks station in CW.
My son, who is a decent runner himself, said it was so evident in person that he was running hard and fast in comparison with most of the other elites. Maybe it's just his natural gait, but you could see that on the coverage. I was so lucky that I was in the 13-14 mile stretch when they were coming back in the opposite direction.

If there was one thing I wish the organisers had done differently yesterday it would be more litter bins, and litter bins that are a better distance away from the water stations. It feels like they hand you the bottle, and within 10s you're expected to have consumed it and chucked the bottle. Stick a set of bins 200-300m away from the station, would be my suggestion.

Unfortunately, we didn't get back to our spot in time to see the Elites run past this year, so only got to see them on TV. We did get to see plenty of the champs runners barrelling past though.
A return to form for one of our parkrun regulars - he ran off then championship start for 5 or 6 years up until 2019, but had to "make do" with a GFA in '21 and '22. Ran 2:39 yesterday, so hopefully back to champs next year.

Yes, this. I’m happy to sip my water and carry the bottle to the next water station but clearly from the discarded bottles lots of people want to get rid of them sooner.
Still, most people chucked them off to the side and out of the way and the post race clean up crews are very efficient.
It was the dropped gel packets I was most concerned about stepping on, especially around the two places they were giving them out.
