VHS tapes: Apparently Marie Curie in Eastbourne still take them as there's still a demand from the older residents.

In getting to the box where I keep Christmas decorations, I moved a box full of audiotapes which my mother recorded, - all classics, Chopin, Schubert, Shostakovich - she will have recorded them from radio programmes, and they probably won't be brilliant quality. Doubt if anyone will want those.

Nope. Audio tapes deteriorate over time anyway, I threw all ours out years ago.
My understairs cupboard is full of stuff for the declutterer to take next visit.
Next stop is getting rid of a spinning bike, it’s worth a couple of hundred quid so I need to sell rather than donate really. Any tips people?

Why don't you put up a thread for it, maybe another Fetchie could give it a good home.

I threw out a box of cassettes when I moved. This is the first time I’ve remembered them!

Next I need to get rid of the CDs. There are some beloved albums in there but I never play them. Apart from my computer and my car I’m not even sure I have anything to play them on anyway

Last time she visited, my mother insisted that she'd given me all her vinyl records, and not all that long ago, and she'd seen them on a bookshelf in the old Cavern. I reckon Mum is decluttering useful brain cells, because my XH took the record player when we divorced in 2005 and I haven't had one since. But she now suspects XH of having her old Seekers and hoochter choochter albums.

How's this for something old at the back of a cupboard?

(It's older than the lab I found it in)

Help advice and support for declutterers

Special May Challenge

theminimalists.com

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
