Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If anyone has a gf HXB recipe that they would recommend I'd be very interested.

Creme egg brownies sound good! Never tried making hot cross buns-are they tricky?

Here's today's Easter bakes for work tomorrow-we have a vegan, plus a gluten-free person in, so it's been a challenge! So it's Paul A Young's vegan chocolate torte, and Little Miss Happy's lemon drizzle GF sponge made into lemon curd cupcakes...

I think HotXBs are pretty straight forward from the recipes I have seen, not actually made any!

Will give it a look....I've had mixed results with "doughy" bakes in the past! My breads have come out ok, but best not mention the doughnut attempt...

My 2 things with HXB: kneading the fruit in can be tricky (or not kneading it back out), and don't be tempted to bake them before they've risen enough.

I have some friends coming for lunch next week (bringing fleecy blankets, coats, hats and gloves for al fresco dining!). One is gluten-free so I have decided to make us all GF bread to accompany a GF butternut squash and sweet potato soup, followed by a GF lemon polenta cake and maybe some GF brownies. I've never had any success with GF recipes in the past, so 🤞 they turn out ok or none of us will have anything to eat.

Gf brownies are really easy GM and my favourite easy gf bread to bake is this one: realfood.tesco.com

Tom Tom - I have a gf lemon curd cake recipe too :-) Hope your colleagues appreciate your efforts.

Just thought GM - this is nice with soup:

realitytitbit.com

I use Dove's Farm gf brown bread flour and interchange oatbran and oatmeal depending on what I can get.

Tom Tom - I've made the soda bread with almond milk and Alpro yoghurt too.

Looks good, LMH-I like soda bread! Thanks for the lemon cake recipe btw, switching to general GF flour made all the difference. Any takers for half a bag of coconut flour?! Won't be going back to that for GF baking any time soon...

I went through a stage of making coconut pancakes for breakfast a while back.

That would use up your coconut flour...
