How raising interest rates is good for us when we're all struggling with costs anyway

Both neighbours have children in the same class at the same school yet they both take their cars out to do a 0.7 mile school run, leaving and coming home around the same time.

Just catching up on the metric/imperial discussion... Distances on railways are still measured in miles and chains from the terminus (usually London). Sometimes you can see something like "M120 C5" painted on them.
I prefer metric for distances because; 1. OS maps are metric 2. I drive an ex-military Land Rover with a metric speedo 3. All modern trucks have got metric tachographs 4. On multinational internet forums where you're discussing distances cycled, it's easier if everyone uses the same system.
I prefer metric for bodyweight because sports with weight classes like weightlifting and judo use it and it's easier to calculate weight lifted as a percentage of bodyweight if they are both in kg.

Why anyone would measure anything in metric apart from when baking or making porridge
