BVR - I think consistent, conservative progress is most useful and most fun. Unless you are nearing your last mara ever why go for a time that might blow you up? If you do 3:33 and you could have squeeze
3:31 then going for 3:29 could lead to a horrible mess and 3:4x, 3:5x or worse. Take a 5-10 min PB finish strong, learn from each race then next mara after this is a dead cert sub 3:30. Enjoy! :-)G

Wise words from the Rooster!
Just realised that Hellen did the Glasgow2Edinburgh ultra last weekend and then that sub 3.30 marathon this week, that is am amazing performance. Your endurance levels must be sky high!
A 10m race for me this morning, garmin has me with about a minute PB which is very pleasing. Nice race, free tunnocks caramel logs at the end, fantastic

Snowdonia is 10 mins slower than a flat mara, yeah? So 3:3x would be a 3-12 min PB. 3:2x would be 13-22 mins PB. I know which one I'd be gunning for! Best of luck! :-)G

Missed it . Did Hull in 3:31:47. Dodgy ankle went at 15 miles the last 6 of which were horrible. Oh well at least I was faster that the marathons I ran last year.

comiserations mikep - good performance with an injury like that. You'd probably have done sub 330 without the injury and that's still a fantastic time. I'd take that if someone offered it to me now!
