I think we are all paranoid for different reasons. what Hellen says reassures me as I was worrying I haven;t done enough PMP miles within my LRs - progressive building up to last 5 at Ashby at PMP, and then miles 18-22 of a 23 miler last weekend. Yet you speak of doing 10 @ PMP. So I am worrying that although the PMP miles I have done have felt fine and well within my capabilities, I haven't done enough PMP miles in one go for it to be a fair gage.

Need to have faith in the taper...

What worries me Hellen is my recent half marathon time - I raced at 1.37.29. It was hot that day, but it could be at VLM. you most recent half was 1.34 - the sort of time I should have done.

BVR, I recently raced a half in 1:37:17 and so pretty much the same as you. All the race predictors suggest sub-3:30 is doable so if you have done the endurance training, you just need the self confidence! I think Hellen is proably capable of shaving up to 10 mins off that time at some point - she was not tapered and has (I think) raced hard for the last few weekends :-) (am in awe just thinking about it!)

It's the taper madness, I did 1.36 hm early march, some decent lsr's but am thinking twice about 3.30, I'm sure I can do it, but worried that I should have done more and now can't, I'm doing Brigton next week. Good luck with whatever you do

Thanks, seem to be having same trouble as you. I marshalled at the Folkestone 10 miler today, couldn't help thinking I should have been running as a bit more training, will stick to slow and steady 8 on Sunday though.

That's taper psychology mate!

The truth is, if I start at 8mm, by the time I realise it's too fast, it will probably be too late. I must decide before the start. Arrrggghhh :-)

That's confused me even more Clare, that tells me I could run a 3.19 - 3.21, I hadn't even considered that as a possibility. As BVRB says Arrrggghhh
