Nelly, my last long run was on Monday and I misjudged my fuelling. I tried a progressive run with 10 miles at 8.45, 3 miles at 8.30, 5 miles at 8.00 then I planned to do a recovery mile then 2 miles slightly faster than MP before a slow jog home. But after 18 miles I was unable to speed up beyond 10-11 minute mile pace.

Usually for that length of run I'd have 2 packs of shot bloks, a handful of werthers and a bottle of lucozade lite.

I had water and one pack of shot bloks.

Diagnosis: underfuelled idiot ran out of steam.

i'll leave u in the header unless u say otherwise for crawley as i assume u'll want another sub-3:30 (and pb?!) there!

hope u stick around here for a while even if u also feel the lure of the sub-3:15 thread?!
