You'll be way out front, although the race director has indicated a time I /should/ be aiming for I will be on the sub-4 bus!!! 3:59 will be fantastic.

What's a taper!! That's not a bad idea but don't think I'm up to it at the moment.

Actually, this proves I'm not ready.

The below states is from today's 8-miler (2 miles w/u, 1 mile w/d). The aim was to keep heart rate in the rate 150-155 bpm which roughly translates to marathon effort.

3) 1m - 8:29(8:29/m) - 133cal - 151/158bpm - 7.07/8.62mph
4) 1m - 8:09(8:09/m) - 127cal - 151/156bpm - 7.37/9.08mph
5) 1m - 8:30(8:30/m) - 131cal - 151/157bpm - 7.06/8.84mph
6) 1m - 8:13(8:13/m) - 128cal - 153/157bpm - 7.3/9.08mph
7) 1m - 8:44(8:44/m) - 137cal - 154/158bpm - 6.88/8.78mph

I think for a 3.30 you need to be in the right frame of mind as well as trained for it.

yup, I am a strong believer in this mental training / state of mind stuff - been thinking about it a lot in the last few days!

I'm trying to get my head round it.
Still unsure whether to go for it at the Shakespeare marathon on the 29th or churn out 8.15s this time and train faster for an autumn marathon.
I'll probably decide on the start line.

FR - I did thatin 2008, and have yet to beat that PB.

Just done my last long run - 10 miles at 9mm, next 10 at 8mm. BOOM!

Now for some taper nuttiness
