I'm wondering if the slow early pace caused by a crowded start will be a blessing in disguise in London. Might mean a few of 7.30 miles but you never know...

It's the very tactic I used in Hull, although with 6 miles at 6.30 and 8 at 6.20 I pitched the second half far too fast.

barryparker - sounds like good training. Do you know we have a thread specially for people following FIRST training plan? It's http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=39828 Come tell us how you find it, as a training plan?

BVR, I love an easy start, faster finish. Much nicer day out! :-)G

hi all :-) just to say good luck to HOD and jon_t (and any other lurkers going for 3:30 at the weekend). hope it goes well and do let us know how it's gone!

feeling the taper madness creep in this week myself as my mileage and frequency of running are reduced. feel a bit fat and sloth like! looking forward to 7 with the middle 5 @ pmp tomorrow just to prove to myself my legs still work! went to the gym last night as a substitute and woke a few muscles i forgot i had - lots of squat type exercises with kettlebells etc.! i must not do that next week!!!
