I've got some arm warmers from decathlon that cost me about a fiver. I thought I'd just chuck them away the 1st time I ever ran in them but every race I've finished in them too. Used them maybe 4 or 5 times now. Would make your guns look ace lark ;-)

For me they enhance the general scarecrow / stick arms look. Think 'matchmakers' chocolates.

A brief diversion onto the track and away from P&D for me last night as the club's session looked appealing

3x400m then 1500m time trial and 3x400m. Not quite the P&D 5x600m that I would have done tonight, but not a terrible substitute and it did at least mean that I knew precisely how far I'd run rather than around my estimated loop.

Ended up with my 2nd fastest 1500m clocking (unofficial of course) which probably is as much down to me usually running 1500m races after I've done a 3000m race first.

Tough session that - I bet the last set of 400s were ground out!

Thanks baz but I'm going to happily watch the race this year, quite looking forward to getting back in the hills now the weather is getting a bit warmer.

Tbh I think I'd struggle to sub90 at the moment given my lack of longer runs.

Nice session larkim, used to love doing track sessions in marathon training to mix it up. I've only ever run 1 1500 and it didn't really inspire me to TT another .

Vest and shorts for races, none of this warmer nonsense... you'll be warm enough if you run fast 😉

I think I went too soft on the first 3x400m as I wanted to get a representative time on the 1500m so I ran 90/90/87, but I suppose the 1500m had warmed me up as I did 82/84/82/81 (I did an extra one) for the final 400m. Which probably says I ran too conservatively in the 1500m (sandbagging again!)

I'm not a vest person (too much flab up top for that to be an appealing prospect for any spectators), but I'll never be in anything longer than a t-shirt for a race.

Larkin, a vest is worth approx 5s/mile!

I can't believe that the two little bits over the tops of my arms are costing me 5s a mile!!!

Next you'll be telling me I need to buy special running shoes that will make me faster ;-)

Sounds hard work but a good session larkim.

3x10 mins for me just now at a shade over 6:52 mm pace which tells me like stoosh I will be unlikely to trouble the sub 90 marker which I think makes my mind up for Sunday. Only difference would be if my dad is taking my sister in law then I might tag along.
