Not sure how they do it, but they've extracted 50% of my marathons (i.e. 1) for analysis and described it.
"Not flat pace: 15:00 mm:ss positive split, Elevation gain=670.7 m (possibly hilly) Possibly a maximal effort"
Lolling at "possibly hilly". It was Snowdonia.

I just have some weird learning inability that's getting worse as I get older - I just can't learn from looking at things alone, I really need a discussion and then I can get quite involved.
I need to look in to that though. Perhaps for me they'll say: brainless attempt, near 90 mins +ve split, toys out of pram, way below maximal effort!

I think that's just called getting older. Why do you think I spout such nonsense on a regular basis? I'm sure I wouldn't have done that 20 years ago...

Applied for the Manchester refund today, removes the "limbo" of not knowing. Now I am certain that I'm not entered for any marathons, so there is no uncertainty.
So, what to do instead? I do know that I only really commit to running "properly" when I've got a goal in mind, and an airy fairy goal of "being fit so that when marathons resume" doesn't float my boat - though I do want to achieve that; I'll just need something more tangible to get me working on that.
Is anyone working on any personal challenges that might inspire me?

Not sure what floats your boat but Facebook posts from the race organisers of Boston UK have convinced me that they are giving it their best shot of hosting the race. No guarantees obviously but enough that I’m drawing up an 8 week plan to get me from in reasonable shape to race day ready.

Bet you £50 you can't run 50mpw, every week, all easy.
Coaching fee: That'll be 50 quid please.

Given the aims relating to large gatherings in stadiums, there should be the potential for races of at least some scale at some point in the autumn. Not holding my breath though and I'd have to say things are likely to get worse at some point.

When I heard Boris' comments today about October onwards it did make me wonder if London was in the frame for being one of the first events to get a green light. As such a marquee event I can imagine the pressure to hold it is quite high.
I'm doing 30mpw easy at the moment ptb (well, if you ignore the one family fast session a week which I can readily do without) so I reckon I could take the £50 But I still don't fancy it enough!
Lolling at puzzlers "reasonable shape". Interesting about Boston though. jda had mentioned Yorkshire later in the month of October, which is tempting, but I think I'm contentedly reconciled to the certainty of no marathons in 2020. I'll happily sign up for a November / December half (if Stockport 10m is on, I'll be in like a shot).
I'll see how I go with the 30+mpw I'm managing at the moment as "ticking over".

...and so i find myself strangely filling in the Yorkshire marathon entry form...
They can have my money for a week or so, before they cancel that. It will mean at least I'll make sure I run this weekend
Bizarrely in their Ts&Cs (which I read, for the first time ever), they have in their "force majeure" clause "national mourning for over 65's" (wedged in between nuclear war and communicable diseases I think). Peculiar!

They're referring to the death of a senior royal, Larks.
