Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Should hillwork feature in all training plans, or is it countered by interval training. Or is it good to run uphill to prepare for running up hills ? It is early, my head might not be screwed on right just yet.

Both are best if you can PB, although I don't do much on hills cos I don't like them, oh and it's bad for my shin splints ;)

Homer, good idea going out for a hard 5k run.

I definitely think my improvement has been helped by just learning how much I can push myself and still finish strong, my 1st 5k mile splits were 6.31, 7.17, 6.51, yesterday it was 6.30, 6.44, 6.40, so the big improvement came in the middle section, when it really starts to hurt but the finish still seems a long way off.

Decisions, decisions. Should I go to the track on Friday (where I can do 400's) or use the treadie (where I can do 800's) - Treadie not got the speed to do 400 repeats justice.

Just joined the group. My 21:24 PB is a bit soft and I was probably in sub-21 shape last week, but I'm cutting back and it will probably be spring before I can have a crack at 20 minutes.

I'll be doing my timed mile again this weekend so looking to go faster than the previous 6:17.

After that, PROPER 5K training for the first time in my life.

Have also got at least one 10K in December so will use that as part of the training.

Am thinking of doing a 5K in a few weeks just to see how I get along - if it's flat I should beat my PB of 21:12.
