Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

6:26 mile pace. Yep, definitely puke-pace for me.

You can do it Homer. I knocked over 90secs off my 5K in about 6 months, from 21min 30s down to just under 20min, thanks to regular speed work at my club. And yes I *almost* puked when I did it. :-)

I'm only a little bit out from you Kinky - I feel the pull of 19:59

Sounds doable for you the HOD?

The first race I did was 2 years ago this month - the Antrobus Cabbage Canter 5k - I finished in 29:11 and was so proud I wore my medal all day :-)

A couple of weeks later I looked at the results and though - retire now - you'll never be as fast as them....

I have to keep pushing till I get sub-20.

My next attempt will be at Alexanda Park in Manchester in November (after Loch Ness marathon)

Yes 6 and a half min miling with a sprint finish. At the mo it's not too far short of what I doing on my mile reps just before FLM. Now I have to put it together :).

My pace has suffered a bit as marathon training and everything that goes with it. We'll see in a few months

Well, my PB is 20:33, and I don't think I can do it. Last year I felt I could, but I've gone backwards since. I puke pretty much every time I do a PB race. At any distance, and always in a 5k. I'd had coffee before one 5k this summer, and my friend thought it must be blood all over me at the end!
