Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good point....

I was thinking of a 50% taper from my non-marathon mileage which is much less

I don't think I have ever actually trained for a 5k - just done them on the way to other races

I tried in June to give my body a break from the "high mileage" but mainly just cut out the long long runs. I have definately got results from the faster paced work at 5km 10km 10miles and half m.

exactly - I would not dream of targeting a 5k and doing (for me) huge mileage in race week.

last 5k race was at WCTT done on a whim of off a 50+ mile week so was not expecting to PB - got within 16 seconds though.

I've just got to get myself back in a routine again and have a good batch of training and try a 5k in December or January.

What was Aylesbury course like Gobi?

Aylesbury is ok NOT flat as they loop it around the square 3 times but a good course.

You have time to build some good mileage and then do a taper for a 5km on Boxing day then sparky.

night all.

TGIF - Pay Day too :-) Calf seems to be clearing up nicely. Might try a light jog tomorrow or Sunday. Whichever, I don't want to ruin my plan of an interval session at the track Wednesday and probably a long run on Friday. I'm looking at injuries at part of the learning process (least I TELL myself that :0/ ). :-)

No worries. Leg will be okay. No pressure of upcoming races, so I'll take it easy. Just been wondering whether it could have been dehydration that caused my leg to spasm ? May need to drink more water throughout the day and less coffee / tea.
