Reverting back to the sub-20 theme. I reckon I'm good for knocking out a few 3m 18s x 800m repeats. What time would be equivalent to a sub-20 5k ? My 1990 edition of Marathon, Cross Country and Road Running (which I bought new) says...Well, in fact it doesn't say it. I must've seen that chart elsewhere. I think it was in a road runners book though.

I'm sure there is a proportinal chart in the AAA's runners guide, but I sold mine on e-bay last year, when I decided that I would never run again... :o/

I reckon you're about right with 3:10 to 3:20 pb. McMillan kind of agrees with that.
I've decided to give Hyde Park TT a bash tomorrow morning to see where I'm at. First 5k for about 18 months - I've just about forgotten how much they hurt.
I'll be happy with 21 - 22 mins or so at the moment I think.

My pb is a rather lowly 21.51. Trouble is it sounds soft when you write it. Then you have a go at beating it and you suddenly have a new-found respect for previous efforts.

21:51 is bliniing quick BAW and I know what you mean about the respect
(and your marathon PB is faster than mine)

Hyde Park TT - I'll be there in a week's time. Registered tonight and told my wife so can't get out of it. Hoping for a PB this time, then maybe sub 20 if I'm feeling good in 3 weeks time....
Eek.
