Mid week modern man question................. anyone do yoga?

My wife talked me into a bit of this, long and short, my hamstrings are getting worse and worse, but I think long term this will be a good thing, right?

Thoughts......?

Bob stop laughing.

James - I have been out for a few months injured and got involved in something called Body Balance (mix of Pilates and Yoga!)

I certainly think it can help. Now back running I have not kept it up but should. They said it will take around 3 months of regular 'doing' to start to see benefit.

Steve Way does Pilates and I read once he believes in it.

Just don't tell your mates!!! 😀😀

Never done Yoga, I did however, do a course of Pilates once a week for 2-3 months. On the back of that and fewer miles than I usually run (avg. 30-35 per week for 2 months) I ran 1:16 for a half. I then dropped the Pilates and did more miles and got slower again. Doh! The problem I have is I can't be bothered/find the time to do it properly at home and I can't be bothered/find the time to go to a class, especially during the summer months when I'd rather just go for a run. But I'm pretty convinced it works....so I need to stop moaning and be bothered/find the time.....!

I think some sort of core exercise does you a lot of good - it doesn't really matter what you call it. Of course (like Hillck says) it is really boring so if you can find some way to enjoy it then even better. I used to go to a class with the mini-Bobswhich gave them a lot of laughs.

Running off road and hilly you get some core work for free.

No yoga here but started doing weights lately to try and get a bit stronger. Only little ones mind.
