Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I did the local Kirknewton 10k gala race on Thursday evening. Came home in a sub 38 min which was fine as was not really up for racing it. Just £5 entry, and got hot pizza, bottle of beer, flap jack and jelly babies after the race - great value.

Prep for Chester marathon is going well, did a nice 21 miler this morning and was feeling good.

Jock I really enjoyed the blog - looking forward to the next one!

Was just tracking a club mate doing the 95 mile West Highland Way race, I've massive respect for anyone who can manage to finish that type of challenge. Even more so as she is 64 years old.

Thanks, Jock. I highly recommend the event, especially if you live in or near London, as it's free to enter, well organised, a fast course, and you get to watch the elites show you how it's meant to be done!

The press release, which was published yesterday, is a bit odd. There are 5 marathons for which you can post a time, Bournemouth, Chester, Yorkshire, Brighton and Greater Manchester. However only two of those marathons are now accepting entries, Chester and Greater Manchester, the other three are now closed.

Si, I think the line "Details of specific entry details for events where general entry has already closed will be published" clears up your concern (if you had "soon" to the end)?
