Race Jase
nicely done James, you matched my 5k time on Wednesday night. You should be in for a 2:21 marathon next time out. :-)

Very frustrated at my relative lack of ability over anything shorter than 10 miles! Albeit the 102 miles I did last week probably wasnt conducive to a fast 5k. I am also usually going to bed not long after 8pm which is when the race started so maybe my body just said no!

Training has been going very well and had some good races recently (1st in Yorkshire champs 10 mile 55:20 (hily course), 1st in Humber Bridge Half 72:00 (hilly) and 1st in Eccup 10 (hilly in 53:46). I also feel pretty fit which is a good place to be as I havent started specific training for Yorkshire Marathon yet. Also, been doing some heat acclimatisation which I think has had some remarkable effects. Planning on reducing miles quite a bit next week for a 10k blast. That said it is a slow course so if I can get close to low 33 I'll be pleased.

As always Jase, inspiring. Look forward to hopefully meeting you in York on the 9th? Add 10 minutes onto that 2.21 and still thats a maybe.

Long runs- ,Jase,Ant,JI,Lord Bob- would you do anything more than a steady long run at this stage? ie 5 miles easy,5 miles MP, 5 miles easy etc. Progressive?

Hi James, Long runs have been anything from 13-20 miles recently, and most have been just ticking over at an easy/moderate pace. Nowt too specific just yet. Its a bit early for all that.

Ha ha. no need James. It was a touch warm the last few days wasnt it?!?!

Went out with nips out today and actually felt quite cold, despite it being about 21 degrees up here so the HA is defo working!

Did a good session yesterday morning and having a go at a multiterrain 10k on Sunday which I am actually easing down for a bit in the hope I can do some justice over the distance. That said I am not expecting a PB as it is a very tough course apparently.

Good stuff Ant.
