baz p
howdo, im more a stalker of this page just now since I've binned all marathons for the foreseeable future. those who stalk me on strava will notice I have been running around in ovals on a Tuesday and Thursday night.
I've now moved back to track training, concentrating on shorter distances. it was a big shock as I've gone from front of the pack running at training, to back of the pack. but its a good shock, and now i'm starting to find my legs. so a typical session, take lastnights: 2 x 1000, 3 x 800 and 6 x 200s. 2 min recovery between reps, 6 mins between sets. a total lung buster and proper v02 max session. but i'm enjoying the change and hope for faster 3/5/10ks this year. I'm training with guys that are under 4 mins for 1500 (one finshed 7th in the British olympic trial finals for that distance).
I might do a half in October, but that depends on my running over 7 miles...which I haven't done for some months. lets see what happens.

Some great racing chaps - wins all round. Jase seems to be the pride of Yorkshire these days ;).
I've been away first in Snowdonia then Slovenia. Slovenia is a great place for running up some big hills. I was rather gutted to miss a local race that involved 2000m of climb in a 10km race "the first 3km is not so steep ... but then ... then we climb the mountain!". I was good to go but then realised it was our wedding anniversary - close escape. Still I managed a few forays into the mountains hiking with the mini-Bobs.
Peak Skyrace next Sunday. I'm not really ready but how can you train for a 30 miles over the hills 5hr+ race?
