Im in on this down hill running too, is it a age thing? My son flies............. Saw the photo Ant, looks amazing. Hows everyones training going? I have a 5k tonight, but done next to no speed work since the last race so not expecting much. Focus for me is still Oct Marathon, with the main aim plenty miles, well more than I have done before so we shall see. |

Downhill running is a skill, but one that can definitely be learned. Aim for a high cadence, shorter steps than you think you need, and try to silence the voice of reason that says to slow down

Good tips Stuart. Practice on slopes that you know. Short steps, light feet. Core strength and lack of fear - youngsters tend to have the edge. But I'm no downhill hero. Recently a V40 woman took 5 minutes out of me on the hairy descent of Moel Siabod. |
