Yes - I love WFH as o refs in 2-3 hours of my life everyday. But I have a nice house with plenty of space, an OHat home with me & no kids to homeschool. My colleague who has small house, no designated space for an office & a young child at home is desperate to get back to office. I must admit if I was single I’d hate to be WFH everyday - very isolating. In a previous job I had to move from office working to home working. OH was working away Mon-Fro in his then job (in the days mobile phones as widely available & could only contact him at hotel in evening) & sometimes I spoke to no one all day l. I found that v difficult.

There are people wearing masks in sunny Surrey in the shops here. It is a mixed view here. There are also people wearing gloves and yup the new litter is masks and gloves. Interestingly, the BBC has just published an article (after my blog post) about footballers they mention Germany "In Germany's Bundesliga players and staff have been required to wear masks at all times, except for during play", which is why the German run organiser was thinking they might have participants wear masks.... also it in the same news article it is reported "Players will be encouraged not to spit or clear their noses and not to break social distancing during goal celebrations." bbc.co.uk Hahaha I got the scoop first! |

Did people see the Impossible Games last night? It was live athletics, of a sort, in Oslo. It as a bit strange seeing it, and one or two of the celebrations definitely broke the distancing rules. An empty stadium except for a small number of people who had pretend people attached to them, dancing around. And a few rows of fake people towards the front of the stadium. It was nice to see some live sport but the set up was very different to what we're used to.

Those people with the dummies were almost disturbing! I liked Renaud pole vaulting in his back garden

On the train and we've just had the conductor telling us about having to wear face coverings in stations and on trains from Monday. He stated that this can be a scarf, a snood or a mask made from an old t-shirt, so I'm guessing a buff would also be acceptable

I seem to remember Buffs were called Buff snoods way back when coachie. You’d be fine with one I’d guess

Mask are only guidance. There is no law that says you have to wear one so can’t be enforced. If it was so dangerous why only on the 15th - what is going to change in a few days. When less infection & death it makes no sense at all to be insisting on wearing now.

Face coverings become law on public transport I believe, not just guidance. "While the government expects the vast majority of people to comply with the changes, operators will be able to refuse travel or issue penalty fines for those who fail to wear a face covering, in a similar way to the rules on having a ticket for travel. British Transport Police will also support the implementation of these changes." I presume the measure is in place to allow for a greater capacity on public transport at a time when, if things are re-opening, there will be a natural increase in usage. |

It can be enforced if on someone elses land, they can make whatever rules they wish as long as it's within the law and if you don't comply they can refuse you entry/passage. Same as the buses requiring one.

I'm guessing the vague logic behind this is that throughout lockdown, public transport has been quiet enough that social distancing has been easy, in my experience, but with the reopening of shops and businesses there are going to be more people around. There are definitely more people out and about in leeds this week.
